It doesn’t seem like a year ago when I was planning my first draft for submission to become an AWS Community Builder, and I still recall nervously clicking the button to submit my final application.

I also still recall waking up to receive an email confirming I had been selected to join the program. 🚀

When I completed my CB onboarding, I quickly realised how unbelievably talented everyone was and spent some time considering how I could fit in. The ethos is, that if you can make it into the program, AWS firmly believes that you are meant to be there - so believe in yourself and find your mark.

Some call how I felt in the first months ‘imposter syndrome’, and I soon realised that this is completely normal and to embrace it. I was, after all, completely out of my comfort zone.

Jump forward a year, and my builder blog is filled with technical projects, troubleshooting articles, AWS news, and more. I found a stride where I could learn from others, give back to the global technical community, and grow individually. I even landed a new job as a Senior Engineer in the cloud! 💯

It is now your turn to have the chance to join this global initiative… The annual application window for the AWS Community Builders program opens on Monday 6th January. 📯
