You don't know it, thats ok!
Journey: 📊 Community Builder 📊
Subject matter: 💡 Learning and Development 💡
Sahil recently wrote a post on LinkedIn Here, which resonated with me. So much so I then wrote about it Here.
I can relate to this a lot at the moment ðŸ’
It’s a funny old thing, I have spent 15 years in IT. This has all been spent working in the full stack using Microsoft Windows, VMware, and NetApp technologies. All on-premises. A tremendous amount of learning.
I can assess a situation quickly and make fast risk-based decisions.
I enjoy my job!
However, my day job doesn’t touch AWS currently. I do all of that in my spare time.
I first bumped into AWS when I landed on the AWS Twitch channel and watched Kevin Zook and Brady Smith sharing their cloud knowledge with Aaron Hunter dropping in from time to time to do some entertaining quiz time.
🔅 I think that makes me a committed AWS Community Builder… enthusiast, if you will.
However, this comes with challenges as to how on earth I stay up to date with it all!?
I have recently mentioned in a post here about the amount of information being shared being overwhelming: https://lnkd.in/er9QuMwj
It is a lot to take in.
Most of the time with AWS, I am pretty much out of my comfort zone. Build a VPC using IaC… ok, let’s spend some time looking at how I can do that.
So it is nice to read that others honestly didn’t/don’t know how to do something.
⚜ Do I know it right now?
- Maybe not.
⚜ Can I learn it with time?
- YES I CAN 💯
