AWS North East User Group Meetup - Databases!
Journey: 📊 Community Builder 📊
Subject matter: 💡 User Group Meetup 💡
It has been a busy day!
Having joined the AWS Office Hours meeting this afternoon, hosted by AWS Developer Relations Community Manager Thembile Ndlovu to catch up on news and experiences from AWS staff, fellow AWS Community Builders, and User Group leaders, I have just returned home from my second attendance at the AWS North East User Group meetup.
Tonight we saw two excellent presentations on Database architectures with Matt Houghton from CDL Software stepping through a large-scale database migration from Oracle on-premise to PostgreSQL in AWS and also Tony Mullen from Amazon Web Services (AWS) telling us all about Amazon Aurora Serverless v2 and its tremendous auto-scaling abilities.
This included plenty of Q&A and some good laughs! Today’s event was held at the Theatre Royal, which is a great venue.
Thanks for organising another fantastic event Dan Pudwell and also thanks to the evening’s sponsors Accenture.
Please feel free to interact on my LinkedIn post about this evening: AWS North East User Group
If you are interested in meeting up with fellow AWS enthusiasts, AWS identifies the official User Groups on their community portal, which I will post below.
I have filtered the results by United Kingdom where you will find 17 AWS User Groups who host regular meetup sessions to discuss key topics such as Serverless or Database technologies with guest speakers. You can easily change the filters to your location and see what is available in your area: AWS User Groups
